CAN RECURRENT SEVERE HEADACHES BE MIGRAINE??

Answer is yes.
Migraine is one of the most common recurrent headaches that people suffer in the society.

Pathophysiologically, migraine is caused by abnormal neuronal discharge of the brain. This neuronal discharge activates the noradrenargic and 5HT neurons.

Activation of 5HT neurons lead to peri-vascular inflammation which causes vasodilation and release of prostaglandin and Kinins. These three activate the norciceptors(pain receptors) in the wall of blood vessels. It leads to the migraine  headache.

Activation of Noradrenargic neurons constrict the cerebral blood vessels because of that we get aura(patient felt he is going to have a migraine attack) prior to the migraine headache.

Usually young females more tend to get migraine. As early symptoms Yawning,Hunger,Craving for food, Lethargy and Euphoria can be described.

Aura can be felt 30 minute before the attack. Patient can get visually zig zag lines, blurring of vision and flashing lights as aura. Sometimes patient get tingling or numbness on the body and/or weakness in part of the body as an aura.

Headache persists usually 24-48 hours. Headache can be very severe. It can be unilateral or bilateral, throbbing or pulsatile. It also associates with nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, faintishness and dizziness. Sometimes photophobia and phonobhobia can occur.

Usually after resolving the headache, Patient is going to a deep sleep.

Hunger,Fatigue,Stress,Alcohol, Menstruation, noise, food(Chocolate, Cheese,Ice cream etc) and OCP (Oral Contraceptive Pills) are the main precipitating factors of migraine. If you can avoid those precipitating factors you can prevent migraine in most of the time.

Green tea ingredient may ameliorate memory impairment, brain insulin resistance, and obesity

Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology  A study published online in The FASEB Journal, involving mice, suggests that EGCG (epigallocatechin-3-gallate), the most abundant catechin and biologically active component in green tea, could alleviate high-fat and high-fructose (HFFD)-induced insulin resistance and cognitive impairment. Previous research pointed to the potential of EGCG to treat a variety of human diseases, yet until now, EGCG's impact on insulin resistance and cognitive deficits triggered in the brain by a Western diet remained unclear. Journal Reference: Yashi Mi, Guoyuan Qi, Rong Fan, Qinglian Qiao, Yali Sun, Yuqi Gao, Xuebo Liu. EGCG ameliorates high-fat– and high-fructose–induced cognitive defects by regulating the IRS/AKT and ERK/CREB/BDNF. The FASEB Journal, 2017; fj.201700400RR DOI: 10.1096/fj.201700400RR

HEALTH BENEFITS OF CHEWING RAW GARLIC

HEALTH BENEFITS OF CHEWING RAW GARLIC You might not make a lot of new friends if you chew on garlic, a plant used for centuries as both a pungent flavoring and a medicine. A member of the onion family, garlic contains a powerful sulfur compound called allicin, which also lends it a distinctive – and to many people, unpleasant – smell.Garlic not only makes food delicious, it may also have a number of health benefits. The allicin in garlic exhibits strong antioxidant activity – the ability to fight harmful free radicals in the body – which has led scientists to study its health-promoting properties. OFFERS AN ANTI-INFLAMMATORY EFFECT  If you suffer from an inflammatory condition, it may help to consume raw garlic. A study published in "Food and Chemical Toxicology" in August 2013 found that garlic had an anti-inflammatory effect, with raw garlic exhibiting a stronger effect than garlic that had been  heated. The levels of a compound called allicin were great

Using mushrooms as a prebiotic may help improve glucose regulation

August 16, 2018 Penn State Eating white button mushrooms can create subtle shifts in the microbial community in the gut, which could improve the regulation of glucose in the liver, according to a team of researchers. They also suggest that better understanding this connection between mushrooms and gut microbes in mice could one day pave the way for new diabetes treatments and prevention strategies for people.
